Changes in housing legislation have given Wealden District Council the opportunity to build new Council homes in the district.
The changes, as a result of the Localism Act 2011 and self-financing regulations allow the Council to keep its rental income from Council Housing and invest it in new homes for local people.
Wealden District Council to date has completed 160 new homes to rent in Hailsham, Willingdon, Crowborough, Forest Row, East Dean and Cross in Hand. In addition a retirement living court with 67 flats and communal facilities in Uckfield. It has also purchased 31 new build properties across two sites and 8 existing properties. All for rent.
We are currently onsite on an additional two schemes in Crowborough and Polegate which will be completed during 2020/21.
